Miami, Florida – August 4, 2005 – This Fall, Home & Garden Television's (HGTV) “Small Space, Big Style” program will feature several Miami homes, including the home of architectural photographer Mike Butler and the home of furniture designer Alison Brungart. The contemporary furniture designs of Miami-native Matt Steckley are used in the Butler residence. There are five episodes that focus on Miami homes. “Small Space, Big Style” premiers on August 4 at 8pm on HGTV.
The furniture designs of award-winning organic furniture designer Matt Steckley can be seen in the home of photographer Mike Butler ( www.mike-butler.com ) who lives in one of five cottages at the Coral Rock Village , a historic property. Located in near the University of Miami , the Coral Rock Village , owned by Gladys Margarita Diaz Jourdain, was built in the 1930's to host guests of the university. Butler , whose photographs have appeared in Vogue, Casa & Estilo and numerous architectural publications, selected Steckley's pieces “for their unique design and natural colors.”
The South Beach condominium of Alison Brungart, a Miami-based furniture designer, will also be featured on HGTV's “Small Space, Big Style.” Brungart, who purchased the 400 sf. condo in November 2004, says that in her design she wanted to keep the space visually light and clutter free, designing custom furniture with hidden storage solutions that divide the space but also keep the space clean, modern and contemporary. Brungart has worked in architectural firms in Miami and has exhibited her furniture designs internationally. For more information visit www.alisonbrungart.com .
